From August 20 to 22, 2021, at the Fame Sport Club, Jordan Park and in front of the Bill Hickman bar in Kazimierz district, you will be able to cheer and personally take part in competitions where the main character is a small ball – in Poland often called zośka, but all around the world known as Footbag. Some useful information below!

ABOUT

Footbag is the name of the game that is known all over the world – from China through the USA to Europe. In interwar Poland, it was known as 'zośka’, it consisted of bouncing with your feet in a circle composed of several people with a small bag or ball of lead with shuttlecocks made of yarn. As an official sport, footbag developed in the USA, from where it reached Europe in 1995.

There are currently two main competitive footbag disciplines:

  • Footbag Net – playing through the net with a small, hard ball – netbag. You can play only with your feet and the netbag cannot fall to the ground, which makes it quite a technical sport – professionally rich in spectacular attacks and blocks;
  • Footbag Freestyle – juggling soft footbag with your legs and performing a variety of tricks, where the technique, level of difficulty and the style of their execution count.
  • and more street disciplines:

  • Footbag Golf – a sport where precise kicking to the target with various footbags counts, and the winner is the player with the fewest kicks;
  • 2 Squares – a classic game for points played on two squares, where you score a point after hitting a bag into the opponent’s field.
  • This year’s competition will take place primarily in a net game – Footbag Net – due to the Online Freestyle World Championships, where players compete with each other through movies – this form has been forced by the pandemic and problematic travel between continents. However, we invite all freestyle players to compete in the form of a free jam!

    MAP & VENUES

    Here you have map with competition & afterparty spots. If there will be good weather we’ll play outside in popular sports park (JORDAN) on tartan surface in shade of trees. In case of bad weather – we’ll play in a medium sports hall (FAME).

    Important note about accomodation – we did some research near JORDAN Park and marked it on the map. But we have no influence on the weather and in this case we strongly reccomend to rent rooms/apartments in Old Kazimierz District. It’s in the middle of sun/rain spots and in the center of afterparty;) Also Kazimierz is very known of hundreds of bars and restaurants and its UNESCO heritage. Best way to do it is just booking.com or airbnb (Krakow is hardcore touristic city, so you have plenty of options). You can easily move between spots with electric scooters (Bolt is supercheap) as they are very popular in Krakow.
